Smartbusiness is the on line presence of the Taupo Employment Support Trust and The Lake Taupo Business Development Agency. Smartbusiness represents a network of organisations in the greater Waikato - Bay of Plenty Area, called Enterprise Central Network who together provide a comprehensive range of economic development services. 

Smartbusiness provides a range of services throughout the Taupo District in the following areas: 

• Business development / improvement, business assessment and coaching including management up skilling and training via the BIZ Business Development Programme.
• General business advice and information through BIZinfo, including information on awards and grants for business growth and expansion, and assistance in accessing venture capital. 
• Be Your Own Boss and Mentoring Programmes. 
• The training and development (including job placement) of staff in computer / office skills, hospitality training, forestry and carpentry training. 
• Provision of the Work-Based Training and Modern Apprenticeships Programmes
